Well, we now can officially introduce you to Steven Casey York (known as Casey). He was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and almost 21 inches long. Came to us late Thursday night via C-section after quite a few hours of labor that just was not producing the right results. Annette is resting well trying to get some much needed sleep after a stressful night Wed. and day Thurs. Here are just a few of the first pictures, and I'm sure there will be more to come after he comes home on Sunday. Here are also a few pictures of his room, especially pay attention to the beautiful bear cross stitch done by Annette (over several years bits at a time). We never expected it to be in the room of our own child! We are so excited!

Another shower!
Busy week once again as we get ready for the big event! Our friends in the Hidenwood Presbyterian Church Choir threw a shower for us on Thursday night. Probably the quickest shower in history as we had to get on to rehearsal (getting ready for Christmas!) They were very generous and we appreciate all their support.
Still finishing the baby's room and doing some last minute shopping for essentials, but otherwise we're more or less ready (as ready as we can be at least!)

36 weeks!
Annette reminded me that there aren't very many pictures of the two of us together during this pregnancy, so here it is. (Annette now has her own camera so maybe there will be a picture or two of me in the future!)

Baby Shower!
Well, it was a busy weekend. Steve's office-mates threw a wonderful baby shower for both of us on Saturday and Annette's mom and her friend Peggy came from South Carolina. Many of the CNU Library staff members were there as well as cousin Linda from VA Beach, Annette's friend Liz from Poquoson, Beth from church choir (former library student worker), and Deborah's mom. Thanks again to Deborah and Jean for planning and hosting--great food and great fun! Everyone was far too kind and generous with their gifts (but we'll happily accept them!). Here are a few of the pictures (Thanks to Johnnie and Deborah for taking them) I added a couple of Annette's mom and Peggy looking through the gifts again later with help from Lily.

This whole baby thing is looking more and more real every day but we still have a lot to do in the next few weeks: We're interviewing pediatricians, looking forward to a newborn care class, we have to install the car seats, buy a crib mattress, paint and hang the screen door for the baby's room, assemble and rearrange baby furniture, pack the hospital bag, buy a few more Christmas presents, and go to doctor appointments. Of course, we'll do all that in our spare time.
